About

Answer After-Hours, a division of Professional Emergency Resource Services (PERS), was first introduced as a PERS service in 2005. Our answering service was initially created in response to frequent inquiries and requests from many of our DOT emergency number customers within the propane industry. It quickly became evident that traditional answering services were not meeting the needs of these companies, mostly due to a lack of industry knowledge and generalized software and procedures.

Knowledge and Experience

For nearly 25 years, PERS has provided an emergency response telephone number for companies regulated by USDOT, including propane and heating oil marketers, as well as, thousands of other companies who ship or transport hazardous materials. Our center maintains emergency response and incident mitigation information for use by first responders and State or Federal agencies responding to or investigating an incident. In the event of a hazardous materials spill or incident, PERS is prepared to help locate environmental cleanup companies, as needed, and provide registered customers with information and guidance pertaining to Federal incident reporting and State spill reporting requirements.

Uniquely Qualified

It is important to note that Answer After-Hours does NOT satisfy the emergency response telephone number requirement for DOT compliance. In fact, Federal regulation specifically prohibits use of an answering service for this purpose. However, our collective knowledge and experience within PERS and the services we offer, makes Answer After-hours uniquely qualified as the best industry-specific telephone coverage solution. We are ready to answer your calls anytime that you need, day or night. Our nationwide service is cost-effective and easy to use; Simply forward your phones to an assigned toll-free number. Plus, we provide a variety of call packages to choose from to match with the needs of your office or expected call volume.
